Building MDF bases
MDF Base
Project base, two MDF panels, edge filled then spray painted, mortise hole in middle, sides for printer and card reader. Design has gone through many ideas to this final design. Finally learned how to cut and glue acrylic, nice and smooth to let’s cards slip in easy.
Learning how to cut in straight lines now too, was very pleased with the accuracy on the side panels.
The card reader now has an acrylic "tongue". This is to help indicate where it is is and allow the card to be placed flat prior to insertion. One thing I now know is mm accuracy is required to get the cards to read correctly. Not ideal, but I hope it turns out to be not a big deal now I'm tightening the tolerances up after the prototype.
When I cut the paper slips up on the trimmer I will need to be very careful about the sizes though.
